2026 QB Rankings
1.
Fernando Mendoza
Archetype: Pocket Passer
Pro Comp: Jared Goff
Grade: 1st round

School:
Indiana
Height:
6'5
Weight:
225lbs
Strengths:
Above average arm talent. Does well modulating velocity on his throws to layer the ball. Back shoulder balls and bucket throws outside the numbers are a strength. Accuracy doesn't take a dive under pressure. Footwork is efficient. High IQ player who sees the field well and makes good decisions. Fast in a straight line; can pick up chunks of yardage if a play breaks down.
Weaknesses:
Needs to improve his ability to look off zone defenders; often telegraphs his passes. Not as sharp as you'd like pre-snap, which leads to him taking sacks/preventable pressure from free rushers on passing downs. Solid athlete but not somebody you want in the open field frequently.
2.
Dante Moore
Archetype: Pocket Passer
Pro Comp: CJ Stroud
Grade: 1st round

School:
Oregon
Height:
6'3
Weight:
205lbs
Strengths:
Generally intelligent QB prospect; sees and processes the field well. Touch in the short and intermediate ranges allows him to layer passes with good ball placement. Very comfortable and poised climbing the pocket, even when things get muddied. Good athlete who can extend plays. Accuracy stays true rolling to either side, whether taken off platform by pressure or by design.
Weaknesses:
Mediocre arm strength; passes lose steam downfield. Footwork is erratic and likely contributes to his occasionally inconsistent accuracy and velocity. Plus-athlete but by no means a dynamic runner who will see designed runs. Small sample size of good play; first full year as a starter after a meager display at UCLA.
3.
Ty Simpson
Archetype: Gunslinger
Pro Comp: Sam Darnold
Grade: 1st round

School:
Alabama
Height:
6'2
Weight:
208lbs
Strengths:
The best processor in the class. Throws with anticipation and gets through his reads quickly. Very composed and an efficient mover while under pressure; spatial IQ is clearly high. Mechanics are sound top-to-bottom and his good ball placement reflects that. Good enough athlete who can extend plays. Doesn't put the ball in harm's way under pressure.
Weaknesses:
Holds the ball too long (2.98sec TTT); internal clock will have to speed up in the league. Simpson's physical tools are average or just above average across the board. Ball security through the air is solid but he fumbles more often than you'd like. He is in his fourth year, but 2025 is the only season we've seen of him as a starter.
4.
Brendan Sorsby
Archetype: Strong Armed Dual Threat
Pro Comp:
Grade: 2nd round

School:
Cincinnati
Height:
6'3
Weight:
235lbs
Strengths:
Strong NFL arm that can make all the throws. Doesn't take sacks; 2.6% sack-to-pressure rate in 2025. Has drastically improved decision-making; just 3 turnover-worthy passes in 2025. He's steadily improved his processing speed. Has refined his upper body mechanics to a fairly advanced degree. Solid runner with great production at the college level; designed run potential in the NFL.
Weaknesses:
Scattershot accuracy in the short and deep ranges that, though gradually improving, has a long way to go. Very undisciplined with his footwork; too many reps where he doesn't set his feet. Doesn't make many bad decisions but also doesn't always find the best option; loves the deep ball. Good athlete, but lacks any elite traits.
5.
LaNorris Sellers
Archetype: Uber-Athletic Project
Pro Comp:
Grade: 2nd round

School:
South Carolina
Height:
6'3
Weight:
240lbs
Strengths:
Rare athlete who is an elite runner at the position. Huge arm that generates easy velocity. Massive frame and athleticism allow him to break tackles and extend plays. Imposing physical presence at 240lbs+ who can finish runs with authority. Has special physical upside that comes along only once every few years.
Weaknesses:
Accuracy and touch simply aren't there yet. Lacks touch in the short and intermediate ranges. Holds the ball way too long (3.30 TTT) and gets himself into trouble because of it (21.8% pressure-to-sack rate). Doesn't see the field well; see-it-throw-it QB who locks onto reads. Ball security is an issue; 16 fumbles in two years. Dysfunctional South Carolina offense makes him a difficult evaluation.
6.
Cole Payton
Archetype: Strong Armed Dual Threat
Pro Comp: lefty Trey Lance
Grade: 3rd round

School:
NDSU
Height:
6'3
Weight:
233lbs
Strengths:
Dynamic, raw arm talent that can make every throw imaginable. Not afraid to thread the needle and give his weapons a chance to make plays. Flashes impressive ball placement into some very tight windows. Imposing runner in the open field with good contact balance and speed. High upside dart throw, but the mental side of his game seems to improve with each week.
Weaknesses:
Sports a slow, wind-up throwing motion with a strange release point. Footwork and mechanics are subpar; scattershot accuracy on occasion. Internal clock betrays him; holds the ball for too long (3.40sec TTT) and bails out of clean pockets. See-it-throw-it guy who doesn't often display impressive anticipation. Competition level raises questions.
7.
Josh Hoover
Archetype: Gunslinger
Pro Comp:
Grade: 3rd round

School:
TCU
Height:
6'2
Weight:
205lbs
Strengths:
One of the better processors in the class; incredibly efficient getting through his reads and often gets the ball out in a hurry. Good at avoiding sacks (12.7% pressure-to-sack rate). Great anticipation throwing over the middle. Not afraid to test very tight windows and deliver a well-placed ball. Has made some awesome throws deep and outside the numbers.
Weaknesses:
Physically limited prospect; mediocre mobility and arm strength that is just okay. Puts the ball in harm's way more than you'd like (34 turnover-worthy plays in '24 & '25). Gunslinger mentality gets him in trouble; throws into windows that aren't there. Footwork is inconsistent and impacts his accuracy.
8.
Joey Aguilar
Archetype: Gunslinger
Pro Comp: Ryan Fitzpatrick
Grade: early day 3

School:
Tennessee
Height:
6'3
Weight:
225lbs
Strengths:
Arguably the most accurate deep ball in the class. True gunslinger who will push the ball downfield and give his weapons a chance to make a play. Does well to avoid taking sacks (11.1% career P2S rate). Surprisingly cerebral against the blitz; gets the ball out quickly and fairly accurately. Proved he can succeed outside of the Tennessee offense in '23 and '24 with App State.
Weaknesses:
Lacks elite physical tools in every regard; fairly average across the board. Ball security is an issue; 10 fumbles and 22 INTs in the last two seasons. Propensity to go for the big play often gets him in trouble; high-risk-high-reward decision maker. Older prospect who will be 25 as a rookie.
9.
Cade Klubnik
Archetype: Dual Threat
Pro Comp: Mitchell Trubisky
Grade: early day 3

School:
Clemson
Height:
6'2
Weight:
210lbs
Strengths:
Arm elasticity and quick, compact throwing motion jump off the screen. Legit speed to threaten defenses. Natural talent pops when taken off-platform; accurate rolling to either side and delivers throws on the run with zip. Generally consistent accuracy at all three levels of the field. Ball placement is receiver-friendly.
Weaknesses:
Fairly slow processor who sticks to his initial read. 2025 production has seen a steep decline from 2024. Delivers passes late more often than you'd want. Garrett Riley offense makes things easy on him; half-field play designs and one-read decisions galore. May lack the frame to consistently succeed on designed runs in the NFL.
10.
Garrett Nussmeier
Archetype: Gunslinger
Pro Comp:
Grade: early day 3

School:
LSU
Height:
6'1
Weight:
205lbs
Strengths:
Cerebral player who is highly accurate and prescient when attacking the middle of the field. Sound pre-snap process; identifies blitzers and adjusts accordingly. Post-snap process is also very good; identifies coverages and finds his man. Sees the field very well. High IQ operator when in structure who will likely play for a long time.
Weaknesses:
Arm strength is average; will struggle to thread the needle against NFL DBs. Arm talent declines further on the move; not good rolling to his left. Breaks down under pressure; will drift in the pocket, lose his base, and put the ball in harm's way. Athleticism won't threaten NFL defenses. Below average height and mass.
